Rae and Edith Bennett Travelling Scholarship
The Rae and Edith Bennett Travelling Scholarship was established by bequests from Rae and Edith Bennett to assist students undertaking graduate study or research in England, Scotland Wales or Northern Ireland.
The University may award up to 3 scholarships per year.
The Rae and Edith Bennett Travelling Scholarship provides an allowance of up to $60,000 per year for the normal full-time duration of the overseas study with a maximum of two years. The scholarship may be extended with one year in exceptional circumstances.
The value of the scholarship may vary and will be confirmed at the time of awarding.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
be currently enrolled at or have graduated from the University of Melbourne;
intend to undertake graduate study or research in the United Kingdom as part of your current degree at the University of Melbourne or to obtain a degree from the overseas institution; and
not have completed a course of study at the same or higher level as the proposed study in the United Kingdom;
You must submit a Travelling Scholarships Application Form by the specified closing date.
Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of academic merit, their personal qualities and financial position taking in consideration other scholarships or bursaries awarded to the applicant.
Students who have submitted an application, should receive an outcome within 4-5 weeks after the relevant closing date.
