Westpac Asian Exchange Scholarship
The Westpac Asia Exchange Scholarship was established in 2014 by the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation as a gift to future generations of Australians to commemorate Westpac’s 200th anniversary in 2017.
The Scholarship is awarded by the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation to undergraduate students who are undertaking one semester of overseas study at a leading Asian university.
The Westpac Asia Exchange Scholarship provides the following benefits:
An allowance of $10,000 paid in one instalment at the commencement of your exchange
Membership of the Westpac Scholars Alumni program with access to ongoing networking, learning and development opportunities
To be nominated for the Westpac Asia Exchange Scholarship, you must:
Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree course at the University of Melbourne and have completed at least 100 credit points; and
Be eligible for or have received approval to enrol in an University of Melbourne Exchange for one semester with one of the following overseas institutions:
Tsinghua University and Peking University
Shanghai: Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Hong Kong: University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong
Singapore: National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University
Students approved to study on exchange at one of the institutions listed above will be invited to apply for the Westpac Asian Exchange Scholarship.
The University will select eligible students in consultation with the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation on the basis of academic merit and their personal qualities, including demonstrated leadership capacity, public-spirited approach, community engagement, and capacity to benefit from an overseas study experience.
Students invited to apply for the Westpac Asian Exchange Scholarship Round 1 will be notified of the outcome of their application by June and those who were invited to apply for Round 2 by October.
