Melbourne Scholarships

W.E.J. Craig Travelling Scholarship

The W.E.J. Craig Travelling Scholarship was established by an anonymous donor and available to students undertaking research in the area of animal husbandry at an overseas institution. 

The University usually offer 1 scholarship per year.


The W.E.J. Craig Traveling Scholarship provides a living allowance of up to $30,000 per year for the normal full-time duration of the overseas study with a maximum of three years. 

The value of the scholarship may vary and will be confirmed at the time of awarding.


To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • have graduated from the University of Melbourne;
  • intend to undertake graduate study or a research in the area of Animal Husbandry at an overseas tertiary education institution as part of your current degree at the University of Melbourne or to obtain a degree from the overseas institution; and
  • not have completed a course of study at the same or higher level as the proposed study


You must submit a Travelling Scholarship application for this scholarship.


Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of academic merit, their personal qualities and financial position taking in consideration other scholarships or bursaries awarded to the applicant. Preference is given to students intending to undertake research at Queen's University Belfast.


Applicants will be advised of the outcome via email within 4-5 weeks after the relevant closing date.
