Peter Reid Memorial Scholarship

The Peter Reid Memorial Scholarship was established in 2007 by a bequest from Peter Cecil Reid to assist students with academic excellence in need of financial assistance.

The University may award one or more scholarships per year as funds permit.

The Peter Reid Memorial Scholarship provides an annual allowance of approximately $5,000. The final amount will be confirmed at the time of awarding and paid in two half-yearly instalments for a maximum of two years.

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • be enrolled in a degree course at the University of Melbourne
  • have at least twelve months of full-time study remaining to complete your course; and
  • be in need of financial assistance

You must submit an online Student Financial Assistance Application by the closing date. If you already have submitted an application in the last six months you do not need to apply again.

Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of academic merit and financial need.

Students will be notified of the outcome of their application by 30 June. Reasons for non-selection and feedback on individual applications will not be provided
