Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award for Postgraduate Studies
Established by a bequest from Mavis Kinsman, the Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award for Postgraduate Studies is available to female graduates of the University of Melbourne undertaking graduate study in Social Sciences.
The University usually awards two scholarships per year.
The Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award provides an annual allowance of approximately $5,000 per year for the standard full-time duration of the recipients course. The allowance is paid in two half-yearly instalments in April and September.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
be a female graduate of the University of Melbourne;
be a enrolled or planning to enrol in a graduate coursework degree at the University of Melbourne with at least twelve months of full-time equivalent study remaining to complete your course
be enrolled or planning to enrol in a Social Sciences discipline; and
be experiencing compassionate or compelling circumstances which have impacted on your study (e.g. financial hardship, medical condition or personal difficulties)
You must submit an online application for the Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award. Only complete applications submitted by the relevant closing date will be considered.
Eligible candidates are selected on the basis on their overall level of disadvantage and academic merit.
Students will be notified of the outcome of their application by 30 June. Reasons for non-selection and feedback on individual applications will not be provided.
