The Housing Bursaries were established by the University to assist students in financial need or who need to live away from home in order to attend University.
The University may award approximately 250 bursaries per year.
The Housing Bursary provides for an allowance of $100 per fortnight for up to one year.
To be considered for a Housing Bursary, you must:
be enrolled in degree course at the University of Melbourne. Students undertaking a single subject or a non-award course (e.g. study abroad or exchange are not eligible; and
be paying rent or board. Students paying mortgages are not eligible
complete a means test. Students with a married or de facto partner must also include their partner's income. Students under the age of 21 must include the income of their parents, unless a serious breakdown in the relationship between the student and their parents
You must submit an online Financial Aid Grant application by the closing date. If you already have submitted an application in the last six months you do not need to apply again.
Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of financial need.
Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications via email by 30 April.
